Creativity Journeys – Introduction
Creativity Journeys are just that, a journey into an inward exploration to the depths and womb of creativity and an outward expression that gives birth to the flow of creation.
Each journey is offered as an online blog post that can be accessed anytime and anywhere. Creative Journeys #1-5 cover getting started and the four types of journeys described below. Creative Journeys #1-5 are now online. Creative Journeys # 6 and beyond are in the same categories, offered online once a month.
There are four types of Creativity Journeys:
*Creativity Containers. Sacred, safe, beautiful containers that hold the expressions of creative flow. Folders and origami books.
*Inward explorations/outward flow. Expressing what is within through mandalas, abstract paintings and drawings.
*Seeing Creation / Sharing the Essence. Looking into creation, seeing its essence and honoring its form in drawing and painting.
*One with Nature’s Creativity. Outdoor explorations and creative expressions.
Each Creativity Journey blog post offering includes:
*The why, or big picture of creativity, what is our deep longing to connect with our creativity.
* A guided meditation to relax into a mind, body and heart space opening to creativity flow.
* Prompts for Dancing on Paper, the making of marks with words and images
*Examples and how-to of mark making through the prompts
*Closing Poem or Prayer

Art Supplies
Paper
Mixed Media Paper – this is a somewhat heavy paper (80 – 96 lbs)that can be used for watercolor, pencils, pens, markers.
Creativity Containers are made with larger sheets 18×24 inches, but a smaller paper size can be used. Larger pages can be torn or cut into smaller sheets.
Optional Papers
Watercolor Paper – These can be smaller sizes that fit into the Creativity Container. 140 lb. paper is the usual weight
Calligraphy Paper – this is a high quality 8.5 x 11 inch computer paper that is often used for calligraphy because ink from many pens does not “bleed” into the paper. The brand is HP Premium 32.
Arches Text Wove -a high quality 100% cotton art paper made in France. It is lightweight, but strong for watercolor and other paints.
Newsprint – an inexpensive thin paper that is good for sketching. Can be used for watercolor and other art materials.
Watercolor Paints –
Any brand in pans will work. Also a inexpensive set of tube watercolors will be used for washes.
Pens
Waterproof pens like micron which have a fine line. Various widths and colors are available.
Pilot Parallel Pens – these pens allow lines of various widths in one stroke. A 3.8 is best, but they are available in a set of 4 sizes which are fun to play with.
Brushes
Water color brushes – Round brushes in medium sizes work well. Chinese watercolor brushes are also good.
More details about art supplies will be given in each Creativity Journey.
The first Creativity Journey went online August 18th.
