Connection to Air & Earth – A Month for Mandalas
December 19th, 2015
A Month for Mandalas, session two
, which ended weeks ago, was about connection to nature’s elements. Part of the session is actual connection and merging of mandalas with the elements. Here are the mandalas honoring and becoming one with air and earth.
Christine Torlina’s Mandala honoring all four elements.
These mandalas below in this blog post were created to become one with air and earth. The papers are rice paper. The inks were sumi and made from walnuts. Bees wax crayon and fabric dye give more color.
AIR – a prayer flag that blows in the wind.
Connection of the four elements to air. Prayer flag on backyard pergola.
The mandala prayer flag hangs below the carved-into-wood quote from George Washington Carver: “When I touch a flower…I am touching infinity.”
These mandalas will send their energy into the air and beyond as they blow in the wind throughout the winter and beyond.

EARTH – Mandalas buried into the garden so their energies can merge.
