100 Days for Mandalas – Week Eight
July 23rd, 2012
MONDAY MANDALA INFORMATION, INSPIRATION & MEDITATIONRiverside Mandala by Christine Torlina at a river in Missouri
MANDALA PROMPT – WATER
This week’s theme – water – is inspired by last week’s mandala called “Sacred Elements of Life: Air, Earth, Water, Fire”. The balance of the four elements sustain life on earth. Here in Missouri we are experiencing the imbalance of too little water and too much fire. Our land is parched and rivers low.
Become aware of, and honor, the waters of the world and how the balance of water in its many forms and places is so desperately needed. Recognize how often water is used in your creativity. Paper is made with water to form the pulp, watercolors bring pigment colors to the page, water is part of most paints, waters of the landscape provide inspiration. The list could go on an on.
Water is also a carrier and symbol of our emotions. Tears of joy and sadness make us human. Joy and sadness, and all our emotions are what often drive us to create. Let the waters of your feelings be the basis for your mandala this week.
