Time: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
Location: Artist Studio in University City, MO
Mandalas, Meditation & Journaling, developed by Linda, is an easily learned combination of painting mandalas, guided imagery meditation and journaling. This process awakens the artist within, creates calmness, clears out interior clutter, enlivens & balances right/left sides of the brain and deepens creativity.
A mandala, which means sacred circle, is a container for expressing simple yet profound images that come from within. Mandalas are used in many spiritual traditions as meditation and healing tools. The round shape of Cathedral stained glass windows, sand paintings by Buddhist Monks and Medicine Wheel healing circles of Native Americans are all examples. Mandalas are also seen nature. Flowers, seeds, shells, individual cells and spinning galaxies all have this round contained shape.
Creating simple and easy to make mandalas opens a person to deep creativity. The marks and images made with paints and other art materials come from inner imagination and reflect a personal intuitive guidance from colors, shapes and images. Balancing this artistic right brain creativity is left brain journal writing. Journals are personal word expressions that can be private or shared. The images of mandalas and journal words are often combined into art journal pages. Art journaling pages are expressions of who we truly are and deepen connection to Source.
Guided meditations lead by Linda bring a centering, calming and deep dive into creativity. Each workshop creates a sacred circle of creative journeys.
Class size is limited. Contact Linda for a registration form.
COST: $105 for workshop and art materials. A mandala creativity kit of papers, paints and other art materials is taken home by each participant so they can easily continue the practice of mandalas, meditation and journaling.
