Mandalas Around the House
October 24th, 2012
When I started looking, I found lots of mandalas around my house. Many of them were ones I created decades ago, ceramic bowls and platters I did before my children were born. I didn’t call them mandalas at the time. When I create mandalas now I see the same images, like spirals, coming up when I create with paper. Here are the favorite ceramic mandalas I created.
The mandalas below were made by nature and other artists.
Horse hair nest made by birds, given to me by a friend who found it. Robin’s egg and feathers found on the ground in my garden.
Gourd bowl made by Huichol Indians with beads imbedded in beeswax. From a trip to Mexico.

Drum made by a teacher of mine.
Shells collected from a family friend’s shell shop in Florida.
There are more mandalas around my house. I’ll share more later.
