100 Days for Mandalas – The Gifts of Our Soul -Session 5 – Week 6

Helpers Along the Way

As we journey through life there are helpers who are there for us.  Some are people, some are angels in the real sense and other like angels. Inspiration and guidance come in many forms.  Often a rock found along a path calls out to be held in a hand.  These rocks and other objects held in the hand bring a connection to something far greater and beyond daily life.   For me Zuni stone fetishes carved in the South West hold an energy of beauty and purpose.

To understand the Zuni fetish, we need to see it in its original context,

assisting humanity in honoring the mysteries of nature.

They offer us direction in our exploration of the inner world
where the paths of our daily lives are charted.
Above all, they are gifts that allow us to see
the unknown and mysterious in a new light.

I take some of the stone fetishes I have collected or been given, with me on trips.  They are protectors.  When I need strength to finish something challenging the Badger blue fetish reminds me I can do it. Each carries the essence that we often need to be reminded of, that we carry inside ourselves.  I created these mandala images with a smart phone camera app.  I love having the images in a healing mandala circle.

(See my Zuni fetishes at the end of this blog, and where they came from )

THEME FOR SESSION FIVE

– This is the last week of the theme “JOURNEY”.

JOURNEY – of discovering  the gifts of our Soul

POEMS & QUOTES – Please read these words in bold type by Hal Zina Benett, and let them be an inspiration.

MEDITATION – The guided meditation centers and quiets.  Enter into the sacred space of the mandala circle to let the colors, shapes and whatever you put into the mandala guide you. The marks you make are perfect, whatever they are.

Here is the meditation for JourneyMANDALA MEDITATION – JOURNEY

MANDALA PROMPT – Who have been your helper(s), physical and non-physical along  your journey.

WRITING PROMPT – An easy poem to create in an acrostic poem.  Take a word, any word or words from the quote, and write the letters one on top of each other, down a page. This week I used the word “PATHS” and wrote a poem/prayer.

These Zuni stone carved fetishes and a small rock from a dear friend are helpers on my journey. The carvings are from a store in Santa Fe called Keshi, which has one of the  world’s largest collection of this Zuni art. The Zuni carvers work directly with this store. If you are in Santa Fe it is worth dropping in.
