MY OWN PERSONAL PAUSE
I am getting this 100 Days for Mandalas blog post out a little later than usual.  Life sometimes brings unexpected times for pause.  A little over a week ago I was in California taking a walk with my son when I fell and broke my knee cap.  After the emergency room visit, a leg brace and a flight where I paid for 3 seats so my leg could be kept straight, I am home.  Or should I say home bound with several months of time to pause.  I have had to make major changes in my plans, but I am so grateful for this time of peace and healing.

PAUSE & PRAYERS

To start these pause mandalas, I wrote the word “pause” first.  I let other words came to mind.  The first was prayer.  I decided to create “pause prayer mandalas” for my children – two sons, a daughter-in-law and  a girlfriend.  The first two are in last weeks blog.  Here are the other two – one above and one below.

Each mandala hold prayers written within the circle on the watercolor paper in white oil pastel,  and prayers in the small envelopes.  Each envelope also hold a small print of Ganesh, the Hindu god who helps remove obstacles.

I love looking at the details of each pause prayer mandala.  Angel wings collaged on with thread for binding.

I knew I would bind the mandalas together so I painted a strip of paper to be sewn onto the larger paper of each mandala.  The strip of paper is where the pages could be bound together.

I cut two holes in the strip of paper of each mandala and threaded silk ribbon through.  The prayers for my children are held together with ribbon and in my heart.

PAUSE – Inspiration and Meditation

Let that place of peace, of pause, be part of your awareness.  Pause before action and let the peace of that pause be part of your daily activities.

SHARING  – Remember

These mandalas were created by Pat Huemmer.  I love the colors and the words of wisdom about remembering.  Thanks for sharing Pat.
